5 ways to use Mocha Mousse in your home

The Pantone Colour of the Year for 2025 is Mocha Mousse. This silky shade of brown conjures up images of Galaxy chocolate and cups of coffee – rich yet tempered with a gentle softness.

It’s a colour that is seamlessly slipping into interior design trends, thanks to being compatible with a number of other colours and materials. If you have instantly fallen in love with this velvety shade of brown, here are 5 ways to use Mocha Mousse where you live:

    1. Paint a feature wall: Mocha Mousse is being hailed by interior design experts as the new neutral every home needs. While it may not topple white as the backdrop of choice, Mocha Mousse is delicate enough for a spot of colour drenching. If you’re looking for a more entry level point into brown paint, opt for a flat, matt or chalky finish and paint one wall in Mocha Mousse to draw the eye.

    2. Decorate with wallpaper: if you want to create a rich, inviting atmosphere in a room, you can’t go wrong with a wallpaper that’s a good match for Mocha Mousse. Options include fabric-feel or metallic sheen finishes – both look equally as luxe when paired with warm white lighting. Mocha Mousse wallpaper can also create a retro look, especially when the pattern chosen features a geometric design or stylised flowers.

    3. Pair with pink: cocoa rich, Mocha Mousse is almost on the border of dusky pink, so it sits comfortably in more romantic, dreamy interior designs. Paint, paper, fabric and accessories in terracotta, blush and ‘bare plaster’ pink will perfectly compliment Mocha Mousse.

    4. Opt for texture: ‘rich’ and ‘velvet’ are words often used in the same sentence when describing food and it’s the same in interior design too. An armchair upholstered in a Mocha Mousse velvet will be sumptuous and tactile, or why not brighten up a plain cream sofa with some jumbo cord brown cushions and a matching cable knit throw? If you have a headboard, covering it with a suede-effect or moleskin-style fabric matched to Mocha Mousse will add an instant dash of texture.

    5. Match with metallics: brown is one of the most luxurious colours on the spectrum and its opulent quality can be amplified by the addition of metallics. Use Mocha Mousse with silver for a cooler, urban edge, or pick copper - a great choice as it feels fresh yet expensive. Gold and brown give off old money, glamour vibes, whether you choose a rose, matt or antique finish. Swap handles, taps, switches, picture frames and light fittings for an immediate upgrade.

We’re here to help turn your interior design ideas into reality. Contact us for a selection of available homes where you can introduce a dash of Mocha Mousse.
